How to play

In Friday Night Funkin Portrait, players control Boyfriend during rap battles by pressing the correct notes in rhythm with the music to defeat opponents. Arrow icons appear on the screen, and players must press the matching direction when the notes reach the fixed positions.

Players will progress through multiple battle weeks against familiar characters from the original FNF. Every song has its own rhythm and note patterns that require accurate reflexes to keep the health bar stable. At first, the gameplay is fairly beginner-friendly with moderate tempo and simple note sequences. However, as the game continues, the songs become faster and continuous note streams appear much more often.
